Era is a beautiful journey that began in my childhood, in the land of Egypt where alternative medicine thrives. From a young age, I learned the importance of natural remedies for everyday ailments, such as coughs and colds. My grandmother was my first teacher in the ways of herbalism, and I fondly remember going to her favorite attar (herbal shop in Arabic), to learn about different plants and their uses.
As I grew older, my interest in natural beauty and wellness grew stronger. In my twenties, I had the pleasure of experiencing natural facial treatments with an Algerian friend of mine. We would visit her home and indulge in the most luxurious skincare rituals, starting with steam cleansing for the face, followed by Moroccan mud masks, and finishing with a blend of oil and herbal tea to complete the experience. The memories of these sessions still fill me with joy to this day.
In 2005, I moved to Muscat, the beautiful capital city of Oman, and have been living there ever since. One day, approximately eight years ago, a friend visiting Oman on business asked me to bring her some Myrrh oil and Omani honey. I had never heard of Myrrh before, but I was intrigued by her request. Over dinner, she told me the story of the three kings who presented Mary with Frankincense, Myrrh, and gold, and I became fascinated with the history and properties of these precious substances.
Living in Oman, I soon became aware of the country’s reputation for high-quality Frankincense oil, and I began my quest to find the best quality available. I scoured Muttrah, the city’s famous market, in search of the perfect oil, and my obsession with natural beauty and wellness continued to grow.
Finally, in 2019, everything changed. The best quality Frankincense oil found its way to me through a transformative facial treatment, and I knew that I had found my calling. The power of natural oils and herbs to heal, rejuvenate, and enhance beauty is truly astounding, and I knew that I had to share this knowledge with the world.
And so, Era was born. A culmination of years of passion, research, and dedication to natural beauty and wellness, Era is a celebration of the power of nature to heal and nourish our bodies and souls. I am thrilled to be able to share my knowledge and experience with others, and I look forward to continuing this journey of discovery and growth.
